Waiting Room

The television mumbles

The air conditioner blows a little too cold

Children are restless

Mothers are tired

I take deep breaths

Got to watch the blood pressure

I don’t need to be anxious today

It won’t do me any good

Old magazines are sprawled across the chairs

Some people stare at their phones

All of us imperfect beings

Are just wanting to be whole
